SUMMARY:Drawing Lessons by the Green: All Levels
DESCRIPTION:Come have fun drawing with us at Fivesparks in Harvard’s town center. Enjoy the camaraderie of other drawing enthusiasts while learning and growing your art at your own pace\, thoughtfully guided by award-winning professional artist and art educator\, Mara Levin. \nBeginners will start with traditional basic drawing lessons\, while more advanced artists can work on projects in progress from home or begin new works inspired by Mara’s demonstrations and samples in graphite\, charcoal\, conte crayon\, pastel\, markers\, ink wash\, etc. \nWe will cover basic shapes\, light\, shadows\, and shading. We will talk about perspective\, texture\, composition\, focal points\, thumbnail drawings\, and more. Mara will bring a tablet so we can look at drawings by great artists for information and inspiration. DESCRIPTION:This program has reached its maximum capacity. SUMMARY:Private & Semi-Private Music Lessons for Kids
DESCRIPTION:Private/Semi-Private lessons are offered to kids 12 yrs and under on recorder\, guitar and/or keyboard.  Lessons will be scheduled on Mondays or Tuesdays (after other scheduled music courses taught by Steve\, generally after 5pm).  \nThese lessons will help young beginners build a strong foundation for more advanced studies on any of these instruments. \nCareful listening and musicianship skills are emphasized. Fourth and fifth-grade recorder students will gain a solid foundation that will allow for rapid progress upon selecting band instruments in sixth grade. \nLessons are reasonably-priced and conveniently located in the center of Harvard. The pieces – many being shown to the public for the first time – span oceans and landscapes\, figures and fantasies\, an immigration and a generation.\n\n \nFor the Kisses\, art and architecture distinguish their ancestry. Creative expression was the first communication\, the native language. Artistry is the energy coursing through the family tree\, and their creations bond the branches.

SUMMARY:Caverns of Youth: A live music release from Emma Sullivan\, with Erin Sullivan
DESCRIPTION:Acoustic songwriter Emma Sullivan returns home to Harvard for an evening of live music from her debut EP\, Caverns of Youth. She shares the stage with her mother and local resident\, Erin Ash Sullivan (pictured below)\, who will share songs from her sophomore album Signposts and Marks. \n \nA 2015-Bromfield graduate\, Emma is now based in San Diego\, Calif.\, where her indie folk music is inspired by the rural woods of Massachusetts and the laid back groove of Southern California. Caverns of Youth was recorded in Harvard\, at the home of a fellow Bromfield classmate in summer of 2023. \nEmma‘s music distinctly blends storytelling elements of folk music with foot-tapping melodies. DESCRIPTION:This three-hour workshop will cover the process of making monotypes by using litho pencils and Caran d’Ache water-soluble crayons on plexiglass and printing them onto paper – no press needed! \nAnyone who can make a mark can use this technique. It is also a perfect way for artists who are focused on drawing to become printmakers. The simplicity is startling and the results are beautiful. All materials are supplied. \nInstructor: Carolyn Letvin. This class is appropriate for participants 18 yrs and older. Cost is $60 for the workshop and $15 for materials provided by the instructor.  Total: $75. \nCarolyn exhibited art in our October 2023 exhibit\, ‘Rural Reverie.’
