My artistic awakening\, however\, only started 6 years ago when I began hand-building. Since then\, I’ve grown as a creator and continue to learn more about the possibilities of this exciting medium. I am a slow ceramicist\, and I like it that way! Hand-building allows me to spend more time with each piece – gradually building it to its final form\, then refining with careful attention to the lines and textures.

DESCRIPTION:Randy Hodgkinson was the Grand Prize Winner of the Fourth International American Music Competition sponsored by Carnegie Hall and the Rockefeller Foundation. Over his forty-year career\, he has performed with orchestras in Atlanta\, Philadelphia\, Buffalo\, Boston\, Cleveland as well as abroad in Italy and Iceland. In addition\, he has performed numerous recital programs spanning the repertoire from J.S. Bach to Donald Martino. He is on the faculty of the New England Conservatory of Music\, Wellesley College\, and the Longy School of Music. \nIn this presentation\, Randy will discuss aspects of Bach’s Goldberg Variations that will guide the listeners through a complete performance of this monumental work. \nThis performance is supported by a grant from the Massachusetts Cultural Council.

DESCRIPTION:This is the last week to view this exhibit.  \nA juried art show featuring art inspired by the balance between society and nature in the Nashua River Watershed.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThe Harvard Conservation Trust is partnering again with Fivesparks to celebrate art and nature with a juried art show.  This partnership will highlight the beauty of the diverse environments of the Nashua River Watershed: the river with all its tributaries\, its wildlife\, plant life and the lands and communities it nourishes.  \nThis year’s theme is “Wild and Scenic”\, offering artists the chance to reflect their interactions with and response to the wild and scenic Nashua River Watershed. Artists are free to interpret this theme in any way that captivates viewers’ attention and imagination.  \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
