SUMMARY:An Afternoon of Irish Music with Sarah Collins & Jonathan Vocke
DESCRIPTION:Sarah Collins and Jonathan Vocke bring a fresh take to Irish music\, pairing traditional fiddle melodies with old time two-fingered banjo. Drawing inspiration from the Celtic traditions that Sarah grew up with in the Boston area and the old-time and folk scene that Jonathan calls home in Baltimore\, the pair explores the space at the intersection of these musical styles. The music they create together is first and foremost about groove\, and plays with the balance of lightness\, sensitivity\, and grounding. The program of music will include Irish\, Scottish\, and Old Time tunes and songs\, featuring fiddle\, guitar\, and banjo. \nSarah grew up in Harvard\, graduating from Bromfield in 2010\, and is excited to return to town and share her music with family and friends. \nAll are welcome.  Tickets ($20) will be sold at the door via cash\, Venmo or Paypal.

SUMMARY:Snapology: Winter Themed Holiday Robotics - Polar Express
DESCRIPTION:In our Winter Holiday Robotics program\, your builder will explore the basics of robotics while building some really fantastic robots inspired by different holiday traditions! While working with a partner to complete the building instructions and debug their robot’s program\, your student will be taught how different mechanical components work in their robots and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building activities and information about the traditions that make winter such a special time of year! \nWith each new model\, students will be given a program to operate their robotic build. They will learn how to read the program code and then fix an error to make the code useable. By fixing errors in a broken program code\, students will learn how to debug and modify their programs quickly. Whether making their build respond to various sensors\, adding loops and fun sounds\, or modifying variables\, children will learn valuable programming skills through the Scratch-based coding platform. \nThis workshops is appropriate for kids aged 7-12 years. \nWednesday\, November 26th. 9am-3pm.  $110/registrant \nClick HERE to register for Winter Themed Holiday Robotics – Polar Express with Snapology of Harvard\, MA \n_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ \nSnapology is the premier partner for STEAM programs worldwide. SUMMARY:Snapology: Animation Studio Class Series
DESCRIPTION:Animation Studio with Snapology (Ages 6-14):\nIn Snapology’s Animation Studio\, students will create fantastic movies with stop motion animation using LEGO® bricks. Children will work in teams under guided instruction to make a digital movie using stop motion techniques. Teams will go through the entire movie making process\, from plot and character planning to editing. The best part is\, their video will be uploaded to Snapology’s YouTube channel\, so they can show friends and family their very own video! \nStudents will gain hands-on experience with computer-based movie-making software\, learning to create\, edit\, and add sounds and music while becoming comfortable navigating computer menus and applications. They will also develop original stories and characters through guided instruction in story and character development\, skills that not only enhance their films but also strengthen their storytelling abilities in the classroom. Just like professional filmmakers\, students practice teamwork by collaborating on group planning\, sharing ideas\, and respecting their partners’ contributions to bring their creative visions to life. \nFour Saturdays in November (1st\, 8th\, 15th\, 22nd). 10:30am-12:00pm \n$150 per participant  \nTo register for this class series\, please click HERE.  \n_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ \nSnapology is the premier partner for STEAM programs worldwide.
