SUMMARY:HES After School Program: Canvas & Cocoa
DESCRIPTION:Warm up your winter with this child-friendly spin off of your typical “Paint & Sip.”\nCanvas & Cocoa offers a guided painting class\, paired with an iconic hot cocoa bar for your child to enjoy while creating their masterpiece. Socializing\, sipping hot cocoa\, and learning the basics of acrylic paint on canvas will keep your child looking forward to the next session. \nThere will be 5 Tuesday after-school sessions\, starting March 3 and ending March 31st. Each session will offer a different guided session\, progressively getting more challenging. \nThe 5-session package is $200 per student. All painting supplies and materials and the amazing cocoa bar are included.  \nCome dressed for potential mess- acrylic paint does not come out in the wash! If there are allergies\, or dietary/religious restrictions please notify Meghan Lowe (MLowe@psharvard.org)\, as substitutes can be made accordingly. \nThis workshop is appropriate for children in 2nd grade through 5th grade and will be held at Hildreth Elementary School directly after school. SUMMARY:Pastel Painting - Spring Session
DESCRIPTION:Pastel painting with a focus on local landscapes but you are welcome to explore whatever interests you. \nI’ll share my process including exploring composition\, values\, color and mark-making. SUMMARY:Music is Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Age-old practices of meditation\, such as Zen\, remain an effective means of promoting stress-reduction and attaining self-awareness.  \nThis series\, entitled “Music is Meditation\,” will explore the possibilities of using “musical mantras” in the place of verbal ones in the practice of collective meditation.  \nEach session will entail two 20-minute meditation periods\, each employing recurrent musical motives or tranquil meandering themes\, played on keyboard\, as a focus for inward centering.  \nThe first meeting will begin with a brief introduction to the practice of collective meditation.  \nParticipants should wear comfortable clothing\, and bring a small mat if intending to sit on the floor. Chairs will be provided.  \nMusic is Meditation will meet weekly at 9:00am- 10:00am on Friday mornings for 4 sessions (April 3\, 10\, 17 and May 1\, skipping April 24 for school break)\nFee for the 4 class series is $50.\nClick HERE to Register for Music is Meditation
