You will learn the basics of needle felting\, build with clay and explore mixed media. all while making a variety of cute pets\, cats/dogs\, turtles\, fish\, small furry pets and more. And don’t forget their habitats; you will create homes\, food\, and toys. SUMMARY:Birds! Exhibit Event: Needle-Felted Cardinals with Lyn Slade
DESCRIPTION:During this 3 hour workshop\, you’ll create a 2-D needle felted “painting” of a beautiful pair of cardinals on a pine branch.. All needle felting materials are included\, as well as the use of the instructors tools. \nYou will leave with the completed art in a 11” x 14” mat ready for framing. \nNeedle felting is a fast\, fun\, forgiving medium. Lyn has been teaching and exhibiting for 20 years and will share her knowledge with humor and care. No experience is necessary. SUMMARY:Birds! Exhibit Event - Artist Talk with Barry Van Dusen: Out the Studio Window
DESCRIPTION:OUT THE STUDIO WINDOWS\nan illustrated talk by Barry Van Dusen \nMany artists travel widely in search of new subjects\, while others spend their entire artistic lives much closer to home. Andrew Wyeth did all of his work in two small areas of Maine and Pennsylvania\, and Claude Monet spent the last four decades of his life painting the gardens right out his back door. \nNature artist Barry Van Dusen has done his share of traveling\, but he\, too\, continues to find abundant inspiration nearby – many of his paintings feature subjects observed out the windows of his studio in central Massachusetts. \nIn this one-hour illustrated talk\, Barry takes you along in his explorations of nature “Out the Studio Windows”. \nThis program is being offered as part of the Birds! exhibit on view at Fivesparks from April 18 – May 30\, 2026.  \nTo reserve your spot\, please register HERE.  \nThe Birds! curated art exhibit as well as the corresponding bird-related events and programs were planned in partnership with the Boxborough Birders Group.

DESCRIPTION:Pastel painting with a focus on local landscapes but you are welcome to explore whatever interests you. \nI’ll share my process including exploring composition\, values\, color and mark-making. I will have a combination of weekly demos and exercises at the beginning of class\, followed by plenty of one-on-one feedback at your easel. \nAll pastel levels are welcome but some previous drawing or painting experience is necessary. \nContact agillespieart@gmail.com to register and for a supply list or any questions you have.  \nThis class is appropriate for adults.  $330/participant.

SUMMARY:Celebrating Summer's Abundance: Illuminated Labyrinth Walk & Meditation Tool Creation
DESCRIPTION:“Celebrating Summer’s Abundance” is a one-time event that involves walking an illuminated labyrinth path accompanied by meditative music (in The Loft)\, followed by the opportunity to create a handheld labyrinth path meditation tool (in The Cove). \nParticipants will be encouraged to call to mind a form of abundance that brings them great joy in Summer as they walk the path.
