SUMMARY:Music is Meditation
DESCRIPTION:Age-old practices of meditation\, such as Zen\, remain an effective means of promoting stress-reduction and attaining self-awareness. \nThis series\, entitled “Music is Meditation\,” will explore the possibilities of using “musical mantras” in the place of verbal ones in the practice of collective meditation. \nEach session will entail two 20-minute meditation periods\, each employing recurrent musical motives or tranquil meandering themes\, played on keyboard\, as a focus for inward centering. \nThe first meeting will begin with a brief introduction to the practice of collective meditation. \nParticipants should wear comfortable clothing\, and bring a small mat if intending to sit on the floor. Chairs will be provided. \nMusic is Meditation will meet weekly at 9:00am- 10:00am on Friday mornings for 4 sessions May 8 through June 5 (no session May 15)\nFee for the 4 class series is $50.\nClick HERE to Register for Music is Meditation

In Snapology’s Ninjas program\, students will explore the history\, culture\, skills\, and tactics of ninja warriors through hands-on building activities\, games\, and creative projects. From translating their name into Japanese to learning about strength\, concentration\, and agility through fun physical challenges\, students will be fully immersed in this exciting theme. \nWhat Students Will Learn\n Creativity & Critical Thinking\n History & Culture\n Presentation Skills\n Building Stable Structures\n Communication & Collaboration \nThrough guided building challenges and brainstorming sessions\, students will take creative risks while learning about Japanese architecture\, art\, folklore\, and the cultural significance of ninjas—all in a supportive\, low-pressure environment. \n AFTERNOON SESSION\nAttackBots Robotics\nAges 6–12\nIn this action-packed robotics program\, students will build military-inspired robots that respond to their programmed commands. Working with a partner\, students will explore sensors\, motors\, gears\, and programming while learning how design choices affect speed\, power\, and performance. With exciting games and challenges\, students will build confidence in both coding and engineering—and have a blast doing it! \nWhat Students Will Learn\n Programming Skills\n Mechanical Elements\n Following Instructions\n Communication & Collaboration \nUsing a Scratch-based coding platform\, students will read\, debug\, and modify programs to control their robotic creations.
